Life doesn't get much better than this. I'm standing on one of the highest points of my farm on the top of the Cotswold hills, the first rays of spring sunshine bearing down on me. The field is empty save for half a dozen of my favourite sheep - the black-faced Norfolk Horn and the shaggy Cotswold Lion. At my feet is Maude, my top sheepdog and a constant companion for 11 years.

OK, so not every day is like this. The sun isn't always shining and the work can break both your back and your heart, but I wouldn't change it for the world. This place is in my blood and I'd be lost without it.
