What is Gift Aid?

Are you a UK taxpayer? If so, your visit could be worth 25% more to Swanage Railway at no extra cost to you.

By choosing to Gift Aid your tickets, you agree to pay a 10% voluntary donation on top of your admission price. This allows us to reclaim an extra 25p from HMRC for every £1 of your admission, providing vital funding to support our charitable work.

The additional income helps us:
  • Preserve our historic locomotives, carriages and stations.
  • Care for our unique railway heritage.
  • Support our volunteers.
  • Inspire future generations through education and community projects.
  • Keep Swanage Railway running for years to come.
HMRC requires all charitable visitor attractions to ask visitors to make a minimum 10% voluntary donation before Gift Aid can be claimed on admission tickets.

It won’t cost you anything beyond the optional 10% donation, but it makes a huge difference to the future of your railway.
Gift Aid Declaration

We are a charity!
By ticking the Gift Aid declaration, HMRC will add an extra 25p for every £1 you give, helping us preserve our historic locomotives, carriages and stations, support our volunteers, inspire future generations and keep Swanage Railway running for years to come. It doesn’t cost you anything more beyond the optional 10% donation, and every Gift Aided ticket helps secure the future of the railway.
