Sensational silky: wildlife talk on silky wave moth


Find out all about this nationally rare and stunningly beautiful silky moth, a resident of the Avon Gorge that you've probably never even heard of! First recorded in the Avon Gorge in 1851, this unique geological site is now the only place in England where the silky wave moth can still be found.

Regular speaker to our project, Dr Jen Nightingale (Bristol Zoological Society's UK Conservation Manager) along with Nicola Cooke (silky wave expert) take us through its amazing life cycle and why our local Avon Gorge is so essential to its survival.
