    As part of our Winter 2022 British Railway Announcements, we are thrilled to present this LSWR Cross Country Coach Pack. Using new tooling developed for the EFE Rail range, each three-coach pack comprises two Brake Thirds and a Composite coach. Presented as a book set, the three vehicles are numbered accordingly to create an authentic coach set, with set numbers applied to the brake end of each Brake Third vehicle. With an abundance of detail, including separately fitted roof ventilators, handrails, grab handles and underframe components, this coach pack will make a fine addition to any collection.

    The LSWR Adams O2 makes a welcome return to the EFE Rail range, with this model sporting a new tooling variant not previously seen on these 0-4-4T locomotives. The new tooling allows us to depict locos with open coal rails atop the coal bunker, as seen on this example of No. 205 which is decorated in London South Western Railway (LSWR) Urie Green livery. The model sports an impressive level of detail and is supplied with an accessory pack which includes bufferbeam pipework, route indicator discs and a set of etched metal loco tools. Smooth running is assured thanks to the powerful coreless motor, whilst the 6 pin DCC decoder socket is easily accessible inside the smokebox, thanks to the magnetic door providing simple access for those wishing to fit a DCC decoder. At the rear of the loco, wiring has been provided into the coal bunker for a speaker to be fitted below the removable coal load, for those wishing to add a speaker and sound decoder.

    The Diagram 1410 van was the most numerous ventilated van built by the London & South Western Railway (LSWR). Construction began in 1885 and more than 1,000 were built, with various detail differences introduced over the lifetime of the vans. These characterful vehicles feature outside framing, sliding doors and were built with a reduced height when compared with vans built later on. This particular model depicts one such Diagram 1410 van in original LSWR livery which is fitted with Morton Clutch brakes, Panter axle boxes and plain tapered buffers. From 1912 the LSWR built further vans to the new Diagram 1406 which were some 7 inches taller than the Diagram 1410, followed soon after by Diagram 1408 vans which featured hinged doors rather than sliding – this allowed the van body to be slightly wider, increasing the payload. Both of these further types also feature in the EFE Rail range.
